CLEMSON, S.C. — Twelve Clemson players were named to an All-ACC Preseason team on Thursday, including eight first-team selections.

Athlon Sports announced its all All-ACC Preseason Team on its website as it releases its annual preseason football magazines. There was at least one Tiger on the four ACC teams they announced and 13 selections overall.

Clemson’s 13 selections were the second most in the ACC, as Pitt had 14 selections. However, the Tigers led the league with eight first-team selections, including five on defense.

Running back Will Shipley and left tackle Jordan McFadden represented Clemson on the first-team offense, while defensive end Myles Murphy, defensive tackles Bryan Bresee and Tyler Davis, linebacker Trenton Simpson, safety Andrew Mukuba and kicker B.T. Potter were other first-team selections.

Defensive end Xavier Thomas was the Tigers’ lone representative on the second team, while Shipley was named as a kick returner on the third team.

Wide receiver Beaux Collins, tight end Davis Allen and right tackle Walker Parks closed out Clemson’s 13 selections with fourth-team honors.
