CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson fell to No. 10 in the latest College Football Playoff Ranking, which was released Tuesday night by the selection committee.

The Tigers (8-1) dropped from No. 4 in last week’s ranking following their 35-14 loss to Notre Dame, who debuted at No. 20 in the poll this week.

Georgia took the top spot in the poll after knocking off previously No. 1 Tennessee, who fell to No. 5. Ohio State was No. 2, followed by Michigan and TCU. Oregon came in at No. 6, while LSU, USC, Alabama and Clemson round out the top 10.

As for other teams from the ACC in the ranking, North Carolina moved up to No. 15, while NC State is 16 and Florida State is No. 23

Tuesday’s ranking marked the fifth consecutive poll the Tigers were ranked by the CFP Committee, dating back to last season.

Clemson (8-1) had been ranked in 47 CFP rankings overall, including 42 consecutive polls from October 28, 2014-December 20, 2020. Clemson’s streak ended with the first poll of 2021, as the program was not ranked during the first three weeks of the CFP poll that season.

The CFP Rankings began on October 28, 2014.

Clemson will host Louisville on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
